Valencia
 Gandia Beach

Valencia
and its beaches hold a position of privilege for tourism in Spain. Caressed by the Mediterranean sea, it boasts sunny coasts, and all year round warm temperatures. Valencia is also known as "The City of Light" thanks to its 2,600 hours of Sun per year - and that's without even taking into account the light generated when all the "Fallas" are burned, or the fantastic firework displays which have been admired by people from all over the world due to their unbeatable effect.

Valencia must recommend to any traveller interested in its gastronomy the typical "Paella". Apart from Sun and Paella, there's a lot to discover in the Valencian province, and this is one of the reasons that Valencia has become such an important area for tourism, and for people looking for a second home, or even a change of home to warmer climes - both for Spaniards from other areas of Spain and foreigners! The coasts of Gandía, Oliva, Benidorm, Javea,
Altea, ... speak for themselves, and are renowned both nationally and internationally.

Beaches in Valencia

Valencia's sunny beaches deserve to be mentioned separately. Their high quality standards, infrastructure, and level of service have made them famous throughout Europe and the Mediterranean. On More that 100 km of coastline a large number of seaside towns have been awarded the distinguished European Blue Flag. This distinctive internationally recognised symbol guarantees quality, high standards and beaches in good conditions, as well as the use of facilities for the numerous visitors that these beaches receive- both Spanish and foreign.
Malvarrosa Beach

The fact that many Valencian towns decided long ago to embrace tourism as its major sector has made the region become leaders in the tourist industry, and this can be seen in the hotels, restaurants, discotheques, sports facilities etc. Not to mention other necessary services, such as schools, hospitals and so on. Something for everyone to enjoy!

The benevolent climate, the excellent communications infrastructure, the hospitable character of the people, and the gastronomy are some of the qualities that have turned many one time tourists into residents of the Valencian community. This phenomenon is far from over, on the contrary, year after year, more and more people from other parts of Spain and Europe decide to make the Mediterranean their home. Our beaches and our well established touristic infrastructure and the Mediterranean sun obviously act as an influence. In fact, The Valencia community has more second homes than any other region of Spain.
